Food Service Accounts
Per Board Policy 802.10, each student may not charge more than $10.00 on their lunch accounts. The school district has the fiduciary responsibility to seek payment of outstanding unpaid bills and will work with parents to ensure these are taken care of without denying students basic services.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Administration Office at 515-462-2718.
Wellness Regulations and Policies
The Wellness policy is reviewed annually by a group of administrators, teachers, parents, students, and other members of the community.
If you would like to be a part of the review process, or have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact Cammy Leners at cleners@winterset.k12.ia.us

Food Service
Winterset Schools participate in the National School Lunch Program, a federally assisted meal program operating in over 100,000 public and non-profit private schools and residential childcare institutions. This program provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost, or free lunches to children each school day. In FY 2019, schools served over 4.8 billion lunches to children nationwide.
If your student qualifies for free or reduced meals, they are allowed to have both breakfast and lunch meals in one school day. A meal consists of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein, and milk. This follows the NSLP meal pattern dietary specifications set within a specific calorie limit.
