Our TK classroom was buzzing with creativity for Letter C Day! From building blocks to crafting mini construction zones, the kids explored, built, and learned. It was all about teamwork, imagination, and a little bit of "constructive" fun! 🛠️🚜

3rd grade had a blast today at the Iowa Wild game for their “Wild About Education Event”! Thanks to the Winterset Education Foundation for funding the trip!

Officer Garrison, our SRO, read to the kindergarten class, “I’m Not Scared,I’m Prepared”, as a way to educate them for our intruder drills.
This week the kindergarten students have been learning about fire safety. A couple local firefighters brought their firetruck and did a presentation, teaching the kids about stop, drop, and roll, what to do if they see a fire and what it is like to be a firefighter. The kids were so excited and loved to hear the sirens as they drove away.
A reminder that Picture Retake day is October 17. Due to Jostens' green screen technology, students should refrain from wearing green clothing.

It's Book Fair Time! 📚
The elementary school will be hosting its book fair in the library on Thursday, October 17 AND Thursday, October 24 from 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm (during conferences). Visit www.scholastic.com/fair and search Winterset Elementary to preview books or shop the online catalog (online shopping is available October 16 - October 29). All purchases benefit the school! 🌟 It’s Late Start Wednesday! Our amazing teachers and staff are diving into professional development this morning. Today, two of our 3rd grade teachers shared how they've successfully integrated Amira into their daily reading routines. 📚 We also explored the impact of technology on the developing brain, inspired by "The Anxious Generation."
