Winterset, IA – [11/22/24] – Winterset Junior High School students recently had the opportunity to visit Madison County Memorial Hospital for a guided tour, where they explored a variety of healthcare career pathways. The visit, part of the school's career exploration program, provided students with a closer look at the different roles within the hospital and the skills needed for these careers.
During the tour, students visited departments such as emergency services, radiology, and physical therapy. They also learned about the responsibilities of professionals in fields like nursing, medical technology, and hospital administration. Hospital staff shared insights into the education and skills required for different positions in healthcare, as well as what it's like to work in a medical environment.
The tour was designed to help students understand the many career options available in healthcare, including both clinical and support roles. In addition to exploring specific departments, students had the opportunity to interact with healthcare professionals and ask questions about their careers and experiences.
This visit is part of Winterset Junior High’s ongoing effort to expose students to a wide range of career opportunities and provide them with real-world applications of the skills they are learning in the classroom.
