Preschool family night was a success!! We loved getting to spend some time crafting and interacting with our families!

The students are busy learning & having fun during Computer Science Education Week!





All students are welcome to participate in a week of dress up days to kick off the holiday!

2nd graders have been learning a game in P.E. - Elastic jump rope is a game enjoyed around the world, also known as Chinese jump rope, elastics or skip tape. It is played by 3 jumpers following a jump pattern, at a low level first. It is often accompanied by a song or rhyme.




Thanks to the Winterset Educational Foundation for the generous donation of two game carts for the Elementary.


Elementary Technology classes turned their robots into turkeys and coded them through a maze!






Mrs. O’Conner’s kindergarten class learned about life in early America and then made butter.










2nd Grade got to celebrate their Coin Drive win with cotton candy from Mr. Hinrichs and tunes by Dr. D.J. (Dr. Corey St. John) at an extra recess!







Winterset Elementary welcomed community members and News Channel 13 this morning to celebrate the success of the second grade coin drive to benefit the Paw Pantry! Thank you to F&M Bank for supporting our students and community with matching funds. This Saturday, November 18 will be our last “Reading with Rover” for the year. Students do not have to be fluent readers in order to register/participate. They can tell the dogs their own story, show a book, or have their grownup read a book alongside them.


Get out and get involved! Tomorrow is our November PTO meeting.


Friday's visitors to the 1st grade were engineers, landscape architects, and interior designers from Shive-Hattery in West Des Moines. They talked about their careers, how they use math everyday, and did activities to go with it!








The third grade created a WALL OF HONOR to recognize veterans who have answered the call of duty for our great nation. Pictured are veterans from our families and school community.

2nd grade ha begun sorting and counting the donations for the PAW Pantry Coin Drive! If you have a business that was collecting on a behalf of WES, please contact the school or a 2nd grade teacher, and they will happily pick it up.
