The 3rd grade enjoyed a day at Drake for Character Counts Day!

Preschool family night was a success!! We loved getting to spend some time crafting and interacting with our families!

1st grade took advantage of this perfect day on the playground! Time for a little Duck, Duck, Goose, in December! ππ

Preschool family fun night is Wednesday! We have a fun night of crafting and eating yummy treats planned. We can't wait to see all our preschool families!

The students are busy learning & having fun during Computer Science Education Week!

Check out December's CKH! Students will be focusing on the character trait "RESPONSIBILTY" . #HuskyHeroes

All students are welcome to participate in a week of dress up days to kick off the holiday!

2nd graders have been learning a game in P.E. - Elastic jump rope is a game enjoyed around the world, also known as Chinese jump rope, elastics or skip tape. It is played by 3 jumpers following a jump pattern, at a low level first. It is often accompanied by a song or rhyme.

Thanks to the Winterset Educational Foundation for the generous donation of two game carts for the Elementary.

Elementary Technology classes turned their robots into turkeys and coded them through a maze!

Mrs. OβConnerβs kindergarten class learned about life in early America and then made butter.

2nd Grade got to celebrate their Coin Drive win with cotton candy from Mr. Hinrichs and tunes by Dr. D.J. (Dr. Corey St. John) at an extra recess!

Winterset Elementary welcomed community members and News Channel 13 this morning to celebrate the success of the second grade coin drive to benefit the Paw Pantry! Thank you to F&M Bank for supporting our students and community with matching funds. Please tune in Monday, November 27th to the 6:00 am "Scholastic Spotlight" segment on News Channel 13 to see the assembly! #1Moment #MakingMoments

This Saturday, November 18 will be our last βReading with Roverβ for the year. Students do not have to be fluent readers in order to register/participate. They can tell the dogs their own story, show a book, or have their grownup read a book alongside them.

Get out and get involved! Tomorrow is our November PTO meeting.

Friday's visitors to the 1st grade were engineers, landscape architects, and interior designers from Shive-Hattery in West Des Moines. They talked about their careers, how they use math everyday, and did activities to go with it!

The third grade created a WALL OF HONOR to recognize veterans who have answered the call of duty for our great nation. Pictured are veterans from our families and school community.

Don't forget to get out and VOTE for our students tonight!
